Hey there. Chances are if you are looking for information on hypothyroidism in women, you suffer from this debilitating condition. It really is a hard condition to live with. Another problem is most of the medications prescribed for it are not too effective and have some terrible side effects. In this article I will discuss hypothyroidism, and lead you to how you can cure it with natural methods.

More and more people are suffering from hypothyroidism in women these days. A few months ago I had hypothyroidism. I always had aches, was constantly tired, I lost my strength, and got depressed from it.

I was prescribed medication for it. This medication didn’t cure my hypothyroidism, it merely masked a few symptoms, but brought on a few more such as weight gain and nausea. I figured there must be a better alternative.

I had a look on the internet, and found some really good info for hypothyroidism in women. It talked about treating the cause of the issue, which I found refreshing as the medication I was on didn’t do this. I followed this information and the benefits were amazing. They weren’t instant but I slowly started to feel better until I was healthy again.

Hypothyroidism in women is where your thyroid gland is not producing enough thyroid hormones. What you need to do to change this is follow a diet regime that is good for your thyroid and forces it to start working at its best again.

To treat hypothyroidism in women, you need to be eating plenty of foods that are high in iodine. These foods include salt water fish and seafood, Celtic sea salt, and the seaweed that is used to make sushi.

Another mineral that you want your food to contain is selenium. This is important for hypothyroidism in women. These foods are broccoli, onions, garlic, tuna, salmon, chicken, brewers yeast, black strap molasses, and dairy products.

Foods that are high in tyrosine are very helpful and should be eaten as well. These foods include sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, lentils, chicken breast, fish and turkey.

While I have listed foods that are great for hypothyroidism in women, there are also some foods that you should limit in your diet to help get your thyroid healthy again. These foods include cabbage, kohlrabi, turnips, rutabagas, mustard, Brussels sprouts, and cauliflower. You don’t need to stop these foods completely, just limit the amount you have, and a good tip is to cook them if you do eat them, as they are better for hypothyroidism if cooked.

Try to avoid soy products if you can as well, they are not too good for hypothyroidism.
